How to Prepare for your Office Headshot Session
Coordinating photos for an office full of people may seem like a daunting task, but in my experience, there are a few things you can do to make the day go smoothly. Follow these three steps to prepare for your office headshot session.
Now that you’ve scheduled a headshot session for your office, you may be wondering the best way to prepare. Coordinating photos for an office full of people may seem like a daunting task, but in my experience, there are a few things you can do to make the day go smoothly. Follow these three steps to prepare for your office headshot session.
1. Communicate clearly
Send an email to all employees who will be involved including all the details they will need to know. This includes the date, location, and time, along with your expectations on what they should wear. Send this same information on the Monday of the week when headshots are happening as well as a reminder email the day before the session.
2. Create a sign-up sheet with timeslots
The last thing you want is employees waiting around all day anxiously waiting for their turn in front of the camera. Instead, create a sign-up and give them timeslots they can sign up for. This way each employee will know the exact time they need to show up for their headshot.
3. Tell employees what to expect
Give everyone involved an idea of how the headshot will go. For example: "You'll arrive to the conference room at your scheduled time (please see attached copy of the sign-up sheet). The photographer will greet you and tell you exactly how to pose. She'll take a few photos then you'll look at each photo together and choose your favorite”. Sharing these details will help everyone feel prepared and at ease since they will know exactly what to expect.
BONUS: Provide breakfast for the office
Let everyone know ahead of time that you will be bringing in breakfast the morning of the session. Arrange a simple table of bagels, breakfast burritos, or fresh fruit. This will give them one less thing to worry about in the morning and help them feel relaxed and ready to go.
The keys to preparing for an office headshot session is to communicate clearly with your employees leading up to the day and coordinate all the little details to make sure the day goes smoothly. If you follow these easy steps, your session day will be relaxing and fun for everyone.
How to Prepare for your Corporate Headshot Session
There are a few things you can do to prepare for your corporate headshot session to make the most out our time together. By following these three steps, you can set yourself up for an enjoyable experience and help us to get your best side on camera.
I’m so happy you’ve decided to invest in yourself and schedule a corporate headshot session with me! I am honored you’ve entrusted me to capture these important images, and I can’t wait to share them with you.
There are a few things you can do to prepare for your corporate headshot session to make the most out our time together. By following these three steps, you can set yourself up for an enjoyable experience and help us to get your best side on camera.
1. Know where you’re going
Put my studio address in your GPS the day before your scheduled session. This way, you'll have an idea of the route you'll take and how long it will take you to get to my studio. Plan to arrive a few minutes early so you can take your time and arrive feeling relaxed and ready to go.
2. Lay out your clothes
On the evening before your session, lay out the clothes you'll be wearing. Make sure they're clean, pressed and ready for you. This way, you have one less thing to think about the morning of your session. Use the extra time to relax, enjoy a cup of coffee, or clear your inbox so you can be fully present during your session.
3. Show yourself some love
Set aside some time the day before your session for some good old-fashioned self-care. If you can, treat yourself to your favorite relaxing activity. Most importantly, get a good night of sleep and drink plenty of water. Your skin and eyes will thank you for the rest time and hydration.
That’s it! The best way to prepare for your corporate headshot session is to plan ahead and take care of yourself so you can feel relaxed and at your best.

Best Time to Schedule an Office Headshot Session
Are you wondering when the best time is to schedule an office headshot session? If any of these situations apply to you, it’s time!
Your company website is often the first impression of your company. Aside from providing information about what you do, it is also a reflection of who you are.
Many companies use their “about” page to introduce the members of their team, including headshots and bios. This is a wonderful way to give your company and website a personal feel, even if it’s a visitor’s first interaction with you.
Whether you are launching a new website, or feel like you might need an update, I definitely recommend scheduling a professional office headshot session. This is not only efficient, but it will ensure a consistent and professional look to your photos so you are making the best possible first impression.
Are you wondering when the best time is to schedule an office headshot session? If any of these situations apply to you, it’s time!
1. When your headshots do not have a consistent look
Take a look at your company’s “about” page. Does it include a collection of headshots, each with a different backdrop, different lighting, and different crops? It’s obvious these headshots were pieced together and not well thought out. Your company deserves the professional look of headshots with a consistent look and feel.
2. When the group photo is incomplete
Over time, there are bound to be changes to your team. You may hire new members as your company grows or say goodbye to others as they move on to other things. When the group photo on your website is no longer complete or accurate, it’s time for an update. Make your new employees feel valued and keep your marketing materials up to date; it’s a win-win!
3. When you want to stand out among your competition
When you invest in professional office headshots for your company, it has a positive impact on your business. You’ll not only provide a great first impression, but you’ll show you are up on current trends and that you value your team. Using eye-catching professional photos in your marketing is a great way to stand out among your competition.

Best Time to Schedule a Corporate Headshot Session
Are you wondering when is the best time to schedule a corporate headshot session? If any of these three situations apply to you, it’s time to make updating your corporate headshots a priority!
When you are a working professional, you are pulled in a million directions every day. With an endless to-do list and constantly shifting priorities, updating your corporate headshots may not be at the top of the list. Trust me, I get it.
I also know how important it is to present yourself in a professional and modern way in a corporate setting. Taking the time to have your headshots updated can have a big impact on your professional life.
Are you wondering when is the best time to schedule a corporate headshot session? If any of these three situations apply to you, it’s time to make updating your corporate headshots a priority!
1. If you're using a headshot from more than a year ago
When is the last time you updated your corporate headshots? Using an outdated headshot suggests that you are behind the times, and that is not a message you want to send to your professional clients. Trends typically cycle and change as often as every three months. So, getting a headshot annually is the best way to keep up with current looks.
2. If your current headshot is cropped from a group shot
Nowadays, anyone can spot the old "got dressed up for a wedding and used a group photo from the reception" headshot. You're a professional and you deserve to have your own professional headshot. Invest in a corporate headshot session to capture the best version of yourself to present to your professional network.
3. When your physical appearance has changed
Have you shed some extra weight? Did you get a new hair style? Are you wiser and more mature than the current photo you're using? If when a client meets you and you look totally different from the photo in your email signature or profile, that can affect their trust in you. It’s important to make sure your corporate headshot is a current reflection of yourself as they will see you.
Do any of these scenarios hit close to home? Don’t let any more time go by without making yourself a priority. Book a session with me to capture modern, professional headshots you can be proud of.
Best Time to Come in for Personal Branding Photos
Let’s talk personal branding photos. You know how important it is to have professional photos to showcase your personal brand. But when is the best time to come in for personal branding photos? How often should you update your headshots? In my experience, there are a few situations when you should consider refreshing your personal branding photos.
Let’s talk personal branding photos. You know how important it is to have professional photos to showcase your personal brand. But when is the best time to come in for personal branding photos? How often should you update your headshots? These are all great questions! In my experience, there are a few situations when you should consider refreshing your personal branding photos.
1. When you're starting a new company or doing a rebrand of your current company
Personal branding photos are a must when you’re starting a new business. Small business owners who have been in business for a while should also update their brand to keep up with the trends. If you're polishing up your website, logo, or brand colors, now is the perfect time to get fresh on-brand photos of yourself to go with your new look.
2. If you feel like your marketing is stale and needs a jumpstart
Keeping your marketing fresh is key to retaining your audience’s attention. When you use the same messaging and photos in your marketing materials for too long, it gets stale and will easily blend into the background. Nothing gets things looking better than some contemporary headshots. One of the easiest ways to update boring marketing is to share new photos of yourself so your clients feel confident that you know current trends.
3. When your physical appearance has changed
Have you shed some extra weight? Did you get a new hair style? Are you wiser and more mature than the current photo you're using? Think about your personal branding photos from your potential client’s point-of-view. When they see your photo in your email signature or website, they will of course associate that photo with you. If when they meet you in person you have a completely different look than the photo you put out, that could affect their trust in you and your business.
If any of these scenarios apply to you, then it’s time to come in for personal branding photos! I would love to help you capture new, on-trend headshots for you to share in updated marketing materials for your personal brand. Book an appointment to discuss your personal branding session with me.
3 Types of Headshot Sessions - What's the Difference?

To help you decide, here is a quick breakdown of each one, including what is included, who it is best for, and a brief summary.
I offer 3 types of headshot sessions: corporate, office, and personal branding. Which will best suit your needs?
To help you decide, here is a quick breakdown of each one, including what is included, who it is best for, and a brief summary.
Corporate Headshot Session
What it includes: 20-minute session at my studio and one retouched digital photo of your choice, with the option to purchase additional digital photos.
Who it is best for: An individual who needs an updated professional headshot. They're looking for one to three digital photos.
In summary: It's quick (only 20 minutes long), efficient (we'll shoot directly to my laptop so we can view our shots immediately) and easy (book online then receive your retouched digital photo two business days after your session).
Office Headshot Session
What it includes: I'll travel to your office in the Denver Metro Area and we'll spend as long as it takes to photograph your team of employees. Office sessions are invoiced by the hour and include six retouched digital photos per hour of shooting, with the option to purchase additional digital photos.
Who it is best for: There are a few situations when it makes sense to consider an office headshot session.
1) Companies that have three or more people who need to be photographed.
2) Companies that have a specific backdrop at their office that needs to be in each photo.
3) Companies with employees who have limited time to get their headshot taken so they want to save time on travel by having me come to their office.
In summary: Office headshots are most cost efficient for companies that have three or more employees to be photographed, and when it's more convenient for me to travel to them instead of having all their employees come to my studio.
Personal Branding Session
What it includes: 1 hour session of one person at my studio with three to five different outfits. Digital photos are purchased after your session.
Who it is best for: Small business owners or entrepreneurs who need updated content for their marketing, social media, website, or networking.
In summary: Personal branding sessions are best for small business owners who need five or more digital photos to use across all their marketing, including social media, printed material, and their online presence. If you value having a fresh persona to share with potential clients, then a personal branding session is for you.

2) Give yourself plenty of time
I always recommend arriving early to your scheduled appointment. When you are stressed about getting stuck in traffic or finding a parking spot, it’s really hard to come in feeling relaxed and ready to take amazing photos. If you give yourself extra time, you will arrive feeling calm and be able to truly enjoy and be present during your session.
3) Keep a positive mindset during your session
Believe it or not, your mindset will affect the outcome of your photo shoot. If you are stuck in an anxious cycle, thinking about everything that you have to get done that day, that busy energy is going to come out in your photos. Instead, leave your baggage at the door. Plan on taking 20 minutes of your day to really enjoy the experience of having a relaxed personal branding photo shoot. Trust me, you will notice the difference!
Bonus Step: Trust your photographer.
I've been a professional photographer for almost 20 years, and I've taken close to one thousand head shots for professionals. I bring my technical skills as well as my personal skills to the table when we get together for your session.
If you follow these 3 steps to a relaxed personal branding photo shoot, I know you will have an amazing experience capturing your brand in beautiful, professional portraits.

Before Your Session
When you schedule a session with me at my studio, you will book a date and time either through my online booking calendar or over the phone.
During Your Session
Corporate Headshot Sessions take 20 minutes from start to finish. When you arrive at my studio for your scheduled appointment, you'll park on the street right out front of my studio (there is metered parking).
Bring in the outfits that you'd like to use during your session and hang them on the rack in my changing room. You and I will look through the options that you brought and choose which will be best for your session.
After you've changed into the chosen outfit, I will tell you exactly where to stand, how to put your hands, and which expression you should have. I'll shoot a handful of photos then move onto the next pose.
If we have time, you can change into a second outfit and repeat the shooting process. Once we've finished taking photos, you'll gather your things and head home. We are able to accomplish all of this in only 20 minutes in a session at my studio!
After Your Session
Two business days later I will send you a link to view an online gallery of the best shots from our session. Typically, there are 10 to 15 photos for you to choose from.
Your corporate headshot package includes one retouch digital photo, and you have the option to purchase additional photos after your session. Once you've chosen your favorite photo(s) I will retouch and send the photo(s) to you attached to an email in high resolution. You will be able to use these photos however you would like.
Now that you know all about the experience of a session at my studio, you can look forward to a relaxing photo shoot. Thanks for choosing me to capture your perfect headshot!
3 Steps to a Relaxed Office Headshot Session
Creating a relaxed office headshot session experience does not need to be stressful. Just follow these 3 steps to help make it a smooth and enjoyable day for everyone.
If you have been tasked with organizing a headshot session for your office, it may seem like an overwhelming job. Between coordinating with the photographer, to making sure everyone shows up on time, it may seem like there are a lot of things that could go wrong.
I have good news for you. Creating a relaxed office headshot session experience in your workplace does not need to be stressful. Just follow these 3 steps to help make it a smooth and enjoyable day for everyone.
1) Communicate your needs to the photographer during the preparation phase
Planning ahead is key to a relaxed office headshot session. You may have specific requests such as backdrop color, how you want your employees to pose, or the exact dimensions of the photo crop needed. By discussing these details with your photographer ahead of time, you will both go into the headshot session on the same page and ready to meet the same goal.
2) Create a sign-up sheet for your employees to schedule an appointment during the session
Give your employees an opportunity to sign up for a time slot during the scheduled headshot session. For example, if I will be at your office from 10 AM until 11:30 AM, create a sign-up sheet with 10-minute time slots during that time and ask your team members to choose an appointment time that will work best with their schedule. That way, each of your team members knows exactly when they are expected to be ready for their session.
3) Send out reminder emails to your team members about headshot day
No matter the size of your team, communication is so important to a relaxed office headshot session. Send out an email with details about headshot day, giving them specific instructions on how they should dress and what they can expect to happen during their session. Knowing what to expect and how to prepare goes a long way to keeping things stress-free and enjoyable.

How to Take a Group Photo When Your Team Works Remotely
It's near to impossible to get a team in the same city when you all work remote. The team featured here did a great job of getting their team and group photos for multiple employees on location
In the past few years, more and more companies have switched over to working 100% remotely.
That includes this wonderful group of financial planners who all happened to be in Denver for a industry conference last fall.
The president of their company was smart to take advantage of the rare opportunity that the whole team would be together in the same location.
They hired Denver-Headshots to take individual photos and group photos before they each team member left to their respective hometowns all over the United States.
Is your team in need of updated photos?
Thank you to Ballast Point Financial for trusting me to capture their team’s headshots.
Corporate Headshots - The Do’s, The Don’ts, And How To Rock Your Next Corporate Headshot Session
Corporate headshots are an essential part of how you market yourself professionally. Help your corporate photography session shine with these tips.
Corporate photography is the new must-have tool for professionals in the internet age. A web and social media presence opens up so many opportunities today, from networking to generating leads, and corporate headshots are the frontline push in gaining the credibility for professionalism that your company needs to gain that edge. The benefits of corporate photography will be explained further in this article, along with some do’s and don’ts for you to keep in mind before and during your next headshots Denver session with us. With our help and expertise, you’re guaranteed to make the right impression with high-quality corporate photography.
Corporate Photography Is A Must-Have
Corporate photography has become almost universally adopted by all businesses that have any sort of web presence. All photography produced for the use of a corporation can be considered corporate photography, but only professional-grade, high-quality images will stand out in the internet’s sea of web marketing today. That’s especially true for the face of the company that you give to others - you and your team. Corporate headshots are versatile enough to be used across social media, networking sites, as well as your business homepage. Our headshots Denver studio will provide the perfect setting and best corporate photography equipment to let your professionalism make an impression.
How Easy Is It To Take Corporate Headshots?
If you are looking to maximize the return on your investment with corporate headshots, you’ll want to enlist the services of a top-notch corporate photography company. There are many nuances to photography that set apart low and high-grade professional images. There are ways to adjust camera lenses, angles, and lighting to deliver the best quality that you will get with an experienced and trusted photographer.
It is easier on you when you hire a professional corporate photography company. A great photographer will be able to direct you throughout the sitting for less stress and optimal results. They will tell you how to adjust your body and expression so that your headshot comes out looking friendly and professional, and ensure the entire image is a crisp, clean, focus on you. At Denver-Headshots the problems of coordinating an office-wide corporate headshots session are made easier, too, with our on-location shooting option. We start at an hourly rate with a maximum of six individuals photographed per hour. You can escape the trouble of having multiple employees show up to our headshots Denver studio at specific times and camera-ready, and have the photographer come to your workplace. That lessens the strain on office productivity and can be a more cost-effective solution overall.
What’s Expected From You When Sitting For Corporate Photography?
While you hardly need to worry about anything when you’re with our headshots Denver photographer, there are some general things you can do to make the resulting pictures more amazing, and some things we recommend that you don’t.
Don’t: be afraid to speak up about how you want to be photographed.
Do: feel free to talk to your headshots Denver photographer about what side you feel is your “good side”. It’s common practice for subjects to tell their photographer if there are any features they feel insecure about, and corporate photography aims to make you feel confident so that you can receive the best images.
Don’t: wear any outfits that look unprofessional or colors and prints that detract from the main focus - your face.
Do: present to the world your classy side. For men, there just isn’t much better you can do than wear a smart-looking suit. When you’re picking out one of your favorite suits to wear to a corporate photography session, do try to pick one of a color that does not distract from your face, like black, grey, or navy blue. Ties with loud prints, colors, and a high shine can also have the same negative effect. A nice sweater or jacket can be worn, but you will want to follow the same rules against distraction. Women should choose a professional suit or an outfit that is made for the office. Accessorizing is fine so long as they don’t deter attention from your face, as a nice piece of understated jewelry and the right color coordination can really make your picture stand out. Also, do feel free to bring along extra clothes to try out when you come to a headshots Denver session at our studio. There will be time to try out different looks to choose from when you assess the results.
Don’t: show up in a bad mood.
Do: meditate, perform breathing exercises, think happy thoughts, and do whatever you need to be in good spirits for your corporate headshots session. It’s amazing how much your inner thoughts can show on your face, and looking happy is a lot easier when you feel the same way.
Don’t: skip preparations the night before.
Do: make sure you get a full night’s rest. Being tired will affect your facial expressions as well as your posture, and give you an unenthusiastic look in your photos. Also, do be sure to fully hydrate the night before and the day of your shoot. Hydration will give your face a more vibrant and lively glow.
Don’t: worry!
Do: trust your photographer at Denver-Headshots to help you feel confident and present yourself to the world as the same professional you are in the office. You are the center of attention during a professional corporate photography session, and we take care of ensuring you look your best!

Benefits Of On-Location Corporate Headshot Session
If you have an office full of professionals who need new corporate headshots in Denver, save time and money with an on-location photoshoot.
Do you have a team of professionals who need new corporate headshots in Denver? You are a perfect candidate for an on-location corporate headshots session. That’s where an expert in taking the perfect corporate headshots to showcase the true strength of your company - your people - comes to your office instead of you having to come to the studio, and there are a lot of inherent benefits to that.
There Are Cost-Saving Benefits
No matter what corporate headshots company you choose to get your team’s headshots in Denver from, almost all of them will have different rates for studio sessions vs. on-location sittings. With our headshots in Denver services, you can save money by scheduling an on-location photo shoot, and we have packages that start with a maximum of 6 employees being photographed in an hour. That ensures that there is time for each individual to select the perfect headshot from multiple shoots.
The more employees that need to take corporate headshots the more money you will save with an on-location photo shoot, in general. A higher volume of work for any business usually allows for a discount. The thing you should be aware of, however, is other photography companies offering on-location headshots in Denver for rock-bottom prices - they typically underbid more professional companies because they deliver lesser quality corporate headshots and use inferior equipment.
Less Impact On Your Day-To-Day Operations
Coordinating an entire office’s visiting our studio for headshots in Denver has a high chance of leading to some issues. With an on-site corporate headshots session, however, you can make the whole process easier and faster, making less of an impact on your team’s productivity by keeping everyone together and close to the tasks of the day. This benefit is improved when you hire the right photographer to coordinate the project on location, too. Especially if you have more than 6 employees that need headshots in Denver, you will want someone as professional as you who can deliver the highest quality in the shortest time. This is something to trust to a full-time corporate photography studio and not just an avid enthusiast that does it as a hobby.
On-site corporate headshots can be easier for the photography company, as well. When doing an office-wide project and having individual employees all drive to a studio on their own, confusion and disorganization may ensue. Some may get lost or stuck in traffic and be late, and some may experience an emergency that cuts a session short or stops it from happening completely. You are in more control with an on-site session, and can better ensure that all of your employees receive the best headshots in Denver possible.
DENVER-HEADSHOTS
On-site headshots in Denver for several members of your corporation is a more efficient method than having them all attempt to arrive at our studio at scheduled times. You can find the links for scheduling a quote or a consultation on our homepage at denver-headshots.com.
Corporate Headshots - 10 Ultimate Tips For Professional Headshots
These tips include things your photographer will do and some ways you can help to make your headshots Denver session go perfectly.
Every professional needs a headshot these days. Networking has moved to the digital space, as have many company tools - think Slack and Zoom. Getting a perfect picture that portrays yourself as a friendly, hard-working professional is an art form known as corporate photography, and personal experience probably tells you that it’s something that requires an artist who knows all the nuances involved to get it right. There are several techniques that a corporate photography expert will use in getting your perfect headshots in Denver, and especially these 10 ultimate tips to give them the quality to truly stand out.
1. Find Your “Good Side”
Both of your sides are actually great, but corporate photography takes a lot of know-how about the differences between what you look like in person, in the mirror, and with your finished headshots in Denver. Camera lenses, camera flash, and camera angle all contribute to certain “distortions” and can be used to deliver a perfect image (or a terrible one!).
2. Confidence Makes Better Subjects
Have you noticed some people take better pictures than others? That’s because they have experience in front of the camera. You can practice with selfies or letting family photo you before your headshots Denver session to nail down that perfect smile you’ll be holding and exude the professionalism you want the world to see.
3. Bring Extra Clothes
Feel free to bring some extra clothes to your headshots Denver session so we can review all of the photos and pick the best one.
4. Relax
Don’t go into a photoshoot or corporate photography session with worries. Try to clear your mind a few minutes before with breathing exercises and meditation so you look happy and sincere in your final image.
5. Drink Water
You can prepare the day before your headshots Denver session by drinking water. Hydration does wonders for your face!
6. Beauty Sleep
A good amount of rest the night before your corporate photography session will show in your images. You’ll be in a better mood, and your muscles will be more relaxed.
7. Think Happy Thoughts
Unless you’re Peter Pan and going to fly away, positive visualizations in your head at the time of taking your headshots in Denver will add warmth to your smile and facial expressions.
8. Corporate Photography Focuses On You
You’re the highlight of the production, so photographers should use neutral backgrounds and proper framing of your head and shoulders to get a great “bust”.
9. Perfect Lighting
Natural light in Colorado is an amazing tool, but a corporate photography expert can simulate it with artificial lighting, as well. That takes a bit of knowledge to do, but with the Denver-Headshots studio, you’ll get some amazing results!
10. Perfect Posture
Even if you never took ballet, we will instruct you on how to stand for perfect posture at your headshots Denver session. Body language is one of the most important factors for achieving a professional appearance.
