Why I’m a Studio Photographer

I rented my first studio back in 2008. At that time, I was mostly photographing weddings. But I also had a handful of clients who wanted me to take their headshots.

At first, I had clients meet me in the lobby of my condo in downtown Denver, and we would shoot portraits in the alleyway behind my building. Although it was a great backdrop, it didn't take long for me to realize that this arrangement wasn't sustainable.

I found a space on South Broadway that wasn't too expensive, had great natural light, and plenty of character. Remember the movie Field of Dreams? The famous line is, "If you build it, they will come." That's exactly what happened with my headshot business after getting my first studio.

It was a significant step up in professionalism for my business. Finally, I was officially a studio photographer. I had a private space that clients could come to where they could feel relaxed and comfortable. It was a great step in the right direction. Over the next fifteen years, I moved between five different studios.

My current studio in Belmar is by far my favorite space yet. The natural light is abundant. The high ceilings give us room to breathe. There's easy and ample parking. It's the perfect location for an easy, quick, and fun headshot session.

Whether you need corporate headshots, professional portraits, or personal branding photos, I’d love for you to visit me in my studio and experience this incredible space for yourself. I know you’ll love it as much as I do. So book your studio session here.
